Lead Sources You Didn’t Know You Had

Generating listings is a key prospecting activity, but how much time do you really spend doing that? Every homeowner you meet is a potential seller — even if they don’t think they want to sell right now. Here’s a list of lead sources you didn’t realize you had.

Little league teams

All little league teams need uniforms. Sponsor a little league team for a few hundred dollars to get your company’s name on the back of their jerseys. Every parent will see your company name and logo every time they see their son or daughter in uniform!

Church groups

Most churches, synagogues, temples or mosques have specific groups within them you can utilize to spread the word about real estate.

School volunteers

Every school has some sort of group designed for parents to connect, whether it be the PTA or a mom’s or dad’s club. If your child is in school, make it a point to stand out in the parent’s group.

Nonprofits and charities

Volunteer! You’ll build bonds with people at the nonprofit, or fellow volunteers. You’ll also show your dedication to the community.

Local newspapers

Check the “People on the Move” section of your local Business Journal. This list includes people that got a new job, a promotion, or received industry recognition. Keep in mind, one of the top three reasons people move is because of a new job, so you’ll have a treasure trove of data with this list!

Professional recruiters

Millions of people look for a new house every year because they got a new job, and recruiters and headhunters are the ones responsible for filling those jobs. Because recruiters mainly focus on the job opening, they’ll be happy to outsource the lifestyle part of the job change to real estate agents. Make connections with recruiters and you’ll pull in leads!

Financial advisors

Real estate purchases can require a lot of capital, and financial advisors know the people that have access to that kind of capital. Oftentimes, financial advisors will advise their clients to invest in real estate. If you make connections with financial advisors, they can be a good lead source.

Wedding planners

Millions of people get married every year, and nearly half of those couple will begin to live together afterwards. Not all of them will be buying a home, but some of them will be. If you want to know when someone will be getting married in the first place? Get connected with wedding planners!

Repeat clients

The number one best source of leads is your repeat client base. Hopefully, your clients that were happy with you and your services will refer you to people in their circle of influence!

Circle of Influence

Of course, when you start your real estate career, you should start with your circle of influence to garner leads. Your circle of influence is the group of people you know; your friends, family members, former co-workers, former classmates, etc. The people in your circle of influence already know you and trust you. You just have to tell them you can help them with their real estate needs!
