How to Quickly Curate Facebook Posts

The average person spends 40 minutes a day on Facebook. I guarantee that at least 15 of those minutes is spent just scrolling and scrolling and scrolling. What if you could use all that scrolling time to your benefit?

A while ago, Facebook added the option to save posts to read later, and just recently, they added an option to save posts to Collections. I’ve discovered that this method is an easy way to save content so that when you’re ready to set up your posts, you have your content ready and waiting.

Scheduling posts is also a great way to keep up with your social media presence when you know you’re going to have a busy week. This method works best if you have a Facebook business page so you can use the Facebook scheduler.

Curate the Content

First, you need to start saving posts. When you find a post that you think your followers would enjoy, click in the top right of the post and hit “save.” The first time you save a post, you can create a Collection. I’d recommend naming the collection “Posts to Share.”

Now, just continue on with your day—scrolling and saving as you see interesting content. Once a week, access your Collection, and schedule your posts. Since you’ve already found all the content, it will take very little time to schedule your posts for the week.

Schedule the Posts

I use multiple browser tabs, so I find using a computer works better than your mobile device. Open Facebook and access the content you’ve saved. Since you created a Collection, your posts will be organized and ready.

Open another tab and bring up your Facebook business page—specifically the Facebook scheduler—and follow these steps:

  1. Click on the saved post. It will open in a new tab.
  2. Copy the page URL – this is actually the post link.
  3. Pull up the Facebook scheduler and “create new post”
  4. Paste in the URL.
  5. Once the URL loads, delete out the long URL and write the message that will accompany the post.
  6. Schedule the post.
  7. Repeat process for the remaining saved posts!

A Few More Tips

  • Be consistent with your posting. If you post daily, make sure to always post daily. If you post a few times a week, make sure to stick with it. Your audience will start looking to you for content, and Facebook likes when you’re an active user!
  • Mix up the content you post. Post videos, articles, local news, real estate tips, home care tips and more. Keep your audience interesting in what you’re going to share next.
  • Ask your audience questions to make them part of the conversation and thus increase engagement.
  • Don’t have a Facebook business page? Instead of scheduling posts, you could access your saved content daily and share to your personal page instead. You’re still curating content and will have posts ready and waiting each day—ultimately saving you time.
